BIOGRAPHY

Mathias Klotz was born in Chile in April 1965. He graduated as an architect at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 1990. He has been a workshop lecturer at the Universidad Católica, Universidad Central, Universidad Federico Santa María, Universidad Diego Portales, and the Instituto Universitario de Architettura in Venice. He has also given seminars to undergraduates and postgraduates in Argentina, Mexico, Spain and Uruguay. He was Director of the School of Architecture at Universidad Diego Portales (2001 - 2003) and since 2003 has been Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design at the same university. He has lectured at conferences in Spain, the USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Venezuela, Ecuador, France and China, among other countries.

  • 2002 - Second Place Miami Biennalle (Altamira School).
  • 2002 - Third Place Miami Biennalle (Reutter House).
  • 2001 - Borromini Prize Under 40 Section, Roma.
  • 2000 - Finalist Mies van der Rohe Prize (Reutter House).
  • 1998 - Finalist Mies van der Rohe Prize (Muller House).
