José Cruz Ovalle (Santiago, Chile, 1948)

He began his studies in the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, but later emigrated to Barcelona (Spain), where he graduated at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura.

In 1975 he opened his own studio in Barcelona. He returned to Chile in 1987 and opened a studio in Santiago. Since 2000 he has worked in partnership with Ana Turell (his partner), Hernán Cruz and Juan Purcell Mena.

José Cruz won the National Architecture Award in 2012, being honored by the Escuela de Arquitectos de Chile.
